OSINMSBP - PROBLEM INSTALLING OS/2 FROM MICROSOLUTIONS BACKPACK CD-ROM 05/13/96 ======================================================================= Problem Installing OS/2 from a MicroSolutions Backpack CD-ROM ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION After the first restart during installation, OS/2 no longer recognizes the CD-ROM. RESOLUTION Note: Make sure you have a backup copy of any file you intend to change. 1. Start from the Installation Diskette. Insert Diskette 1 when prompted. 2. When the system finishes reading Diskette 1, press F3. This takes you to a command prompt. 3. At the command prompt, change to the install drive and type tedit config.sys. 4. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file. 5. Look for the BPCDOS2 statement and change it to read: BASEDEV=BPCDOS2.ADD NO EPP 6. Open the CMOS settings set up for your system. 7. Make sure the parallel port you are using is in centronics mode. 8.
