OSINRAID - OS/2 WARP INSTALLATION CANNOT FIND CD-ROM DRIVE CONNECTED TO IBM SCSI RAID ADAPTER 01/10/96 ======================================================================= OS/2 Warp Installation Cannot Find CD-ROM Drive Connected to IBM SCSI RAID Adapter ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION The OS/2 Warp Installation program does not recognize the CD-ROM drive connected to IBM SCSI2 RAID controller cards. The installation displays a red screen with a message indicating that there is no accessible CD-ROM, and then stops. The problem was reported on IBM PC Server 500 and 700 systems that have the IBM RAID Controller. RESOLUTION 1. Do a DISKCOPY of Diskette 1. 2. Copy IBMRAID.ADD to the COPY of Diskette 1. 3. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and add BASEDEV=IBMRAID.ADD. 4. Start the system from the Installation Diskette; when prompted, remove the Installation Diskette and insert Diskette 1. 5. When the red screen appears, press Enter to get the OS/2 command prompt. 6. Type d: and press Enter (d is the CD-ROM drive). Note: If you need to create a partition, type FDISK and press Enter. 7. Type CD \OS2IMAGE\DISK_1 and press Enter to change directories. 8. Type SYSINST2 D:\OS2IMAGE and press Enter.
