OSINTERN - INTERNET FOR OS/2 WARP BONUSPAK FROM CD-ROM 03/19/96 ======================================================================= Internet for OS/2 Warp BonusPak from CD-ROM ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedure ------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION The XDFCOPY error message XDF3507 is received when trying to make the diskettes for the Internet portion of the OS/2 Warp BonusPak. The error occurs ONLY on the INETCON1, 2, 3, and 4.IMG files. The rest of the BonusPak is installed OK from the CD-ROM. When you try installation from the CD-ROM using the BonusPak installation menu instead of making the diskettes using XDFCOPY, you get the UNZIP error (G: is the CD-ROM drive): G:\INTERNET\IAK1.ZIP did not unzip correctly (rc=-51). Do you wish to continue the installation? If you continue installation, you also get the same error on IAK2, 3, and 4.ZIP files. The BonusPak installation program halts and reports the following: The exit program for "IBM Internet Connection for OS/2" gave a bad return code of 65535. Continue with the installation? If you select OK, installation stops. This problem occurs on Mitsumi CD-ROM drives (FX-001D and FX-100D) and might occur on others. It appears to be a CD-ROM-drive read problem. The drive electronics or mechanics might not be aligned (for example, out of tolerance or specification), so a read error occurs on the BonusPak CD-ROM. The failure is only on the Internet Connection for OS/2 component of the OS/2 Warp BonusPak CD-ROM. Other CD-ROM installations were successful. RESOLUTION Install the current FixPak. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
