OSINTO53 - LOSING ACCESS TO TOSHIBA 530B CD-ROM DURING INSTALLATION 09/25/96 ======================================================================= Losing Access to Toshiba 5302B CD-ROM During Installation ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION During installation, you are prompted to reinsert the CD-ROM, but it is currently in the drive. This message is displayed after the first half of the install is complete and you are prompted to remove the diskette. RESOLUTION In some cases, the installation will continue after a restart. If not, do the following: Make sure the following statements are in the CONFIG.SYS file: BASEDEV=IBMIDECD.FLT DEVICE=N:\OS2\BOOT\OS2CDROM.DMD (where N: is the drive that OS/2 is installed on) IFS=CDFS.IFS BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD To edit the CONFIG.SYS file, restart the system and press Alt-F1 when 'OS/2' and the white rectangle appear in the top left corner of the screen. Choose F2 to exit to a command prompt. From the root directory of the startup drive, type TEDIT CONFIG.SYS, then press Enter. Press Esc and make the necessary changes to the file.
