ThinkPad 755cdv with PCMCIA CD-ROM Locks up at Logo Screen during 
Install

DESCRIPTION

While installing OS/2 Warp 4 on a ThinkPad 755cdv with a PCMCIA CD-ROM, 
the installation locks up at the OS/2 Warp Logo screen.

RESOLUTION

  1. Insert OS/2 Warp 4 Installation Diskette in drive A: and restart 
     the system.

  2. Insert Diskettes 1 and 2 when prompted.

  3. Press F3 at the Welcome Screen to escape to a command prompt. 

  4. Insert OS/2 Warp 4 Diskette 1 in drive A:.

  3. Type TEDIT A:\CONFIG.SYS, then press Enter.

  4. Press Esc.

  5. Change BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD to BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD /a:0 /bm.

  6. Press F4 to save and exit the file, then restart the system.
