OSINUNAC - OS/2 IS UNABLE TO OPERATE HARD DISK OR DISKETTE DRIVE 10/15/96 ======================================================================= OS/2 Is Unable to Operate Hard Disk or Diskette Drive ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION "OS/2 is unable to operate hard disk or diskette drive" error appears at first restart, when a second hard disk is installed and partitioned as D: Primary. RESOLUTION 1. Insert OS/2 Warp Installation Diskette in drive A: and restart the system. 2. Insert Diskette 1 when prompted. 3. Press F3 at the Welcome screen to escape to a command prompt. 4. Type FDISK and press Enter. 5. Press Tab and use the arrow key to go to Disk 2. 6. Press Tab and use the arrow key if necessary to highlight the D: Primary partition and press Enter. 7. Select Delete partition. 8. Highlight the FreeSpace and press Enter. 9. Create the partition, as an Extended Logical Drive. 10. Press F3 to save and exit. 11. Insert the OS/2 Installation Diskette and press Ctrl+Alt+Del.
