DESCRIPTION

Different error messages are received during installation, including:

   Allocating memory error....

And:

   A program in this session encountered a problem and cannot
   continue....

The system's motherboard is an American Megatrend from PC Importers. It 
comes with a VLMIO V1.2 or 1.4 Multi-I/O card.

The installation usually fails during the first phase. The INSTALL.LOG 
file shows no error information. When the system is restarted, the 
message "A program in this session...." appears. Pressing Alt+F2 
indicates that device drivers IBM1FLPY.ADD and OS2DASD.DMD are causing 
problems.

RESOLUTION

Replace the card or get an updated BIOS for it.
