      ValuePoint 6384-199 Locks Up during OS/2 Warp Installation

DESCRIPTION

During installation of OS/2 Warp on a ValuePoint 6384-199 (P60/D), the 
system locks up at Diskette 1 with the diskette light on and the logo 
displayed. Pressing Alt+F2 indicates that no driver was loaded. 
Disabling internal and external cache and shadow RAM do not help.

RESOLUTION

ValuePoint systems have the Flash EEPROM level 0.13.01.AV0M with an AMI 
BIOS. Download VPP60FL6.DSK from the IBM PCC BBS (919-517-0001). The 
new BIOS is 1.00.06.AV0M.

this new Flash EEPROM upgrade.
