OSINW4DL - DELETING OS/2 WARP 4 10/25/96 ======================================================================= Deleting OS/2 Warp 4 ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION This document describes how to remove the OS/2 Warp 4 operating system. RESOLUTION Note: This document only describes how to remove the operating system. If you have installed the Networking products, or any other OS/2 applications, these products may have their own installation utility or removal process, which might require the OS/2 operating system. See the documentation associated with your installed software before removing the operating system. To remove the OS/2 Warp Operating System: 1. Create Utility Diskettes: a. Open the OS/2 System folder. b. Open the System Setup folder. c. Double click on Create Utility Diskettes. d. Follow the instructions to create four Utility Diskettes. e. On Utility Diskette #3 (the fourth diskette) you should find the following file: OSDELETE.EXE 2. Insert the Utility Diskette 0 in Drive A:; then restart the system. Follow the prompts to insert Utility Diskettes 1 and 2. 3. When the OS/2 command prompt appears, insert Utility Diskette 3(the fourth diskette); type OSDELETE and press Enter. 4. Read the process screens and make decisions appropriate to your system. If you press the F1=HELP key you get the following screen information: OSDELETE will remove OS/2 from the selected partition. All files and directories from the \OS2, \DELETE, \NOWHERE, \PSFONTS, \SPOOL, and \OS!2_2.0_D directories will be removed. Nothing will be saved in these directories.
