OSINWI31 - INSTALLING OS/2 2.1 OR OS/2 2.11 WITHOUT WINDOWS 3.1 01/30/96 ======================================================================= Installing OS/2 2.1 or OS/2 2.11 without Windows 3.1 ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION This document discusses the installation of OS/2 without Windows 3.1. RESOLUTION If you want WIN-OS/2 support, you need Windows 3.1 in order to install OS/2 for Windows. If you don't want WIN-OS/2 support, you can perform the installation from the OS/2 diskettes, even if Windows 3.1 is not installed. You would have an OS/2 system without the WIN-OS/2 function. If you decide later that you want WIN-OS/2 support, you can do a Selective Install of WIN-OS/2. During this process, you will be prompted for the actual Windows 3.1 diskettes. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
