OSINZEOS - OS/2 WARP INSTALLATION ON ZEOS SYSTEM FAILS AT FIRST RESTART 02/09/96 ======================================================================= OS/2 Warp Installation on ZEOS System Fails at First Restart ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION During installation of OS/2 Warp 3.0 on certain ZEOS systems, the installation stops after the first start to the hard disk. A SYS3175 or SYS3186 message for either PMREXX.DLL or MAKEINI.EXE might appear. Other modules also might appear. If you partition your hard disk under Advanced Installation with Prefetch or Multisector Transfer enabled, the partition and format will be damaged, resulting in damage of any programs or data written to it. RESOLUTION Note: Systems with Pantera Number 453-0036-02 should not disable Prefetch when told to do so. 1. Disable Prefetch and Multisector Transfer in CMOS. 2. Repartition and reinstall. 3. If the problem persists, check the BIOS number (Pantera Number).
