    DOS or Windows Communication Programs Not Working in OS/2 Warp
=======================================================================

DESCRIPTION

OS/2 programs are working, but DOS or Windows communication programs 
are not.

RESOLUTION

 1. Open OS/2 System.

 2. Open Command Prompts.

 3. Click mouse button 2 on the DOS or WIN-OS/2 session in which the
    communication program runs.

 4. Click on Settings.

 5. Click on the Session tab.

 6. Click on the Settings... button on right side of the page.

 7. Click on OK to select all DOS or WIN-OS/2 settings.
 
 8. Change the settings to the following:

       COM_DIRECT_ACCESS = OFF
       COM_HOLD          = ON
       COM_SELECT        = COM1 or COM2 (COM port of modem)
       HW_ROM-TO_RAM     = ON
       HW_TIMER          = ON
       IDLE SECONDS      = 60
       IDLE SENSITIVITY  = 100

 9. Click on Save; then close the Settings notebook.

10. Go to a command prompt and type E CONFIG.SYS and press Enter to
    edit the CONFIG.SYS file.

11. Change the MAXWAIT statement to MAXWAIT=1 and the PRIORITY_DISK_IO
    statement to PRIORITY_DISK_IO=NO.

12. Save and exit the file; then shut down and restart the system for
    the changes to take effect.
