OSMKLOGI - LOGITECH SERIES M MOUSE DOES NOT WORK IN OS/2 WARP 01/23/96 ======================================================================= Logitech Series M Mouse Does Not Work in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Your Logitech Series M mouse does not work in OS/2 Warp. RESOLUTION This is a known problem with the Logitech M-SR-14 mouse. This solution works for most Logitech Series M mice. Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change. 1. Download L_MS_OS2.ZIP from the Dell BBS (512-728-8528). 2. Unzip the file and place MOUSE.SYS in the x:\OS2\BOOT directory (x is the drive where OS/2 Warp is installed). 3. Shut down and then restart the system. Additional Information ---------------------- Some mouse problems are caused by forcing a device type that is different from what was detected. For example, the Logitech Series M mouse is compatible with the Microsoft serial mouse and will be detected. However, the Mouse panel will indicate Microsoft Serial Mouse. If you then select Logitech Serial in the PM panel, the driver, PCLOGIC.SYS, will be added. This driver will not work for the Logitech Series M mouse. Resolution 1. Go to an OS/2 command prompt and type E CONFIG.SYS to edit the CONFIG.SYS file. 2. Remark-out (REM) the following statements: DEVICE=C:\OS2\PCLOGIC.SYS SERIAL=COM1 DEVICE=C:\OS2\MOUSE.SYS TYPE=PCLOGIC$ 3. Add DEVICE=C:\OS2\MOUSE.SYS. 4. Restart the system. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
