                MWave Modems under OS/2 Warp 4

DESCRIPTION

MWave modem does not function with OS/2 Warp 4.

RESOLUTION

To use an MWave modem with OS/2 Warp 4:

1. Install the proper drivers for the particular MWave device, for 
   example, ThinkPad, Aptiva, or other.

2. Once the drivers are installed properly, the following steps must be 
   taken before trying to use the MWave modem:

   a. Open the MWave folder on the Desktop.

   b. Double-click on the MWave modem icon to start the MWave modem and 
      MWave Discriminator applications.  

   Once these applications are running the modem should work without 
   problems and function normally.

Note: These extra steps are required under OS/2 Warp 4 due to a change 
      in the operating system; the MWave drivers (which were designed 
      for OS/2 Warp 3) are no longer able to automatically start the 
      MWave modem and MWave Discriminator applications whenever an 
      application requires access to the modem.
