OSMKPNPW - USING PLUG AND PLAY MODEMS WITH OS/2 WARP 4 01/28/97 ======================================================================= Using Plug and Play Modems with OS/2 Warp 4 ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Plug and Play modem does not function with OS/2 Warp 4. RESOLUTION If you experience problems with a plug and play modem and OS/2 Warp 4: First, follow the instructions in the OS/2 Warp 4 README file, located in the root directory of the OS/2 startup drive. Section 6.0 covers plug and play modems. If you continue to have problems, check the documentation for your modem. OS/2 uses the International Standard for PnP, not PnP for Windows95. If your modem only supports PnP for Windows 95, contact the manufacturer of the modem for further assistance or exchange the modem for one with hardware jumpers. Note: For SupraXpress PnP modems, there is a small 3rd party utility available on the Internet at http://www.softio.com/softfile.htm. This utility can be used to change the modem settings; however, this utility is not supported by IBM. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
