For example, if you open a window, the .wav file assigned to opening windows will play repeatedly, until you perform another activity; then that sound will play repeatedly. RESOLUTION Change the IRQ settings for the sound card from 10 to 5 (or 7). Then edit the CONFIG.SYS file to reflect the change.
