OSMMJOVN - SYS1201 ERROR WHEN INSTALLING JOVIAN QUICKVIA ADAPTER 02/07/96 ======================================================================= SYS1201 Error when Installing Jovian Quickvia Adapter All OS/2 Releases ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When trying to install the Jovian Quickvia adapter on a Pentium-based system, a SYS1201 error message is received. RESOLUTION Disable Shadow RAM at the base address used by the Jovian Quickvia adapter: 1. Go to the System Setup (CMOS) menu. Note: On some systems, pressing F1 or DEL at system power-up time will get you to this menu. 2. Look for the Shadow RAM or Cache Memory selection. 3. Disable Shadow RAM for the address range matching the base memory address of the Quickvia adapter. The default address range is CC00--CC7F. 4. Set the range for disabling the Shadow RAM to its maximum size, usually 64 KB. 5. Make sure the Video RAM Cache does not conflict with the base memory address of the Quickvia adapter. 6.
