Audio Problems (Muting) with Mitsumi Drives and IBMIDECD.FLT

DESCRIPTION

Sound cannot be muted out of only one channel; if either the left or 
right channel is muted, both channels will stop playing. This happens 
when using the CD-ROM drive's headphone port, where different sounds 
can be played out of the left and right ports. The problem is found on 
the Mitsumi FX001DE 2X and FX400 4X drives; the IBMIDECD.FLT driver is 
loaded on the system.

RESOLUTION

This is a firmware issue with the CD-ROM drive. There is currently no 
work-around or fix for this problem.
