OSMMNFLE - PROBLEMS WITH FILE AND NEW ON MIDI OR DIGITAL VIDEO PLAYER 01/30/96 ======================================================================= Problems with File and New on MIDI or Digital Video Player OS/2 2.1 and OS/2 2.11 ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Selecting File and then New for a MIDI or Digital Video player opens the default Digital Audio device and loads a Wave audio file for recording. RESOLUTION This is working as designed. See the online help for additional information: 1. Select File from the menu bar. 2. Press F1. The MMPM/2 media player (MPPM.EXE) was designed as a generic player for any device supported by MMPM/2. When File and then New are selected, the media player checks the current device to see if it uses files and can record. If it does and can, a new file is loaded to the opened device. The default sequence for the media player is: 1. Find a digital audio device. 2. Find a Wave audio file. 3. Open the file. 4. Load the file for recording. MIDI and Digital Video for MMPM/2 Version 1.1 do not support recording. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
