OSMMPASS - WINDOWS 3.1 DRIVERS FOR PRO AUDIOSPECTRUM 16 DO NOT WORK IN OS/2 WARP WIN-OS/2 04/11/96 ======================================================================= Windows 3.1 Drivers for Pro AudioSpectrum 16 Do Not Work in OS/2 Warp WIN-OS/2 ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedure ------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION After installing the base OS/2 drivers, you may get one the following errors when opening a Windows session: * The sound hardware is not installed. Would you like the IRQ and DMA settings saved in SYSTEM.INI to be reset to default values? Note: Selecting Yes or No has no effect. * Hardware is not responding to opl3.drv. Use the drivers applet to reconfigure. RESOLUTION 1. Download the following files from the Media Vision, Inc. BBS (510-770-0527): * WIN145.EXE (344,623 bytes) * WINDRIV.EXE (57,437 bytes) 2. Install WIN145.EXE: a. Create a temporary directory. b. Place WIN145.EXE in the the new directory. c. Execute the WIN145.EXE self-extracting file. d. Follow the instructions in the README file. The Multimedia folder will be created. Note: If you have the PAS16 Studio adapter, you will not be able to do step 13 in the README file. Continue with the next step in this document. 3. Install WINDRIV.EXE: a. Create a temporary directory. b. Place WINDRIV.EXE in the the new directory. c. Execute the WINDRIV.EXE self-extracting file. d. Follow the instructions in the README file. Note: The following files come with WINDRIV.EXE: MVPROAUD.DRV 27344 8/26/93 MVMIXER 41200 9/21/93 VPASD.386 15967 8/26/93 MMMIXER.DLL 22800 9/7/93 4. Open a WIN-OS/2 session. The session should start with no errors, but there will be no sound. The WAV files in the Sound folder are selectable, but selecting Test still does not produce any sound. 5. From the Program Manager, open the Multimedia folder. 6. Select the Pro Mixer mini-application; then increase both the Master volume control and the WAV volume control.
