                 Removing Multimedia in OS/2 Warp

DESCRIPTION

Use this procedure to remove Multimedia from a system if a wrong sound 
card is selected or the initial installation did not work.

RESOLUTION

Note: Make sure you have a backup copy of any file you intend to change.

1. Delete the Multimedia folder and all other folders that were created
   or shadowed.

2. Make a backup copy of the OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file.

3. At the command prompt, type E CONFIG.SYS to edit the CONFIG.SYS file.

4. Delete all occurrences of MMOS2 from the following statements:

      PATH
      DPATH
      LIBPATH
      BOOKSHELF
      HELP

5. Remove all MMOS2 device-driver statements.

6. Remove SET NCDEBUG=4000.

7. Save and exit the file; then shut down and restart the computer.

8. Open the Drives folder and double-click on the letter of the drive
   where Multimedia is installed.

9. Find the MMOS2 folder and delete it.

Multimedia is now removed. To reinstall it, you can use Selective 
Install.
