OSMMREMV - REMOVING MULTIMEDIA IN OS/2 WARP 01/22/96 ======================================================================= Removing Multimedia in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Use this procedure to remove Multimedia from a system if a wrong sound card is selected or the initial installation did not work. RESOLUTION Note: Make sure you have a backup copy of any file you intend to change. 1. Delete the Multimedia folder and all other folders that were created or shadowed. 2. Make a backup copy of the OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file. 3. At the command prompt, type E CONFIG.SYS to edit the CONFIG.SYS file. 4. Delete all occurrences of MMOS2 from the following statements: PATH DPATH LIBPATH BOOKSHELF HELP 5. Remove all MMOS2 device-driver statements. 6. Remove SET NCDEBUG=4000. 7. Save and exit the file; then shut down and restart the computer. 8. Open the Drives folder and double-click on the letter of the drive where Multimedia is installed. 9. Find the MMOS2 folder and delete it. Multimedia is now removed.
