OSMMWTBL - USING A WAVETABLE DAUGHTERBOARD INSTEAD OF INTERNAL SYNTHESIZER UNDER OS/2 WARP 10/25/96 ======================================================================= Using a Wavetable Daughterboard Instead of Internal Synthesizer under OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION A wavetable daughterboard is not supported under OS/2 Warp. RESOLUTION Contact the daughterboard vendor for assistance. If you are using a Creative Labs Wave Blaster: 1. Get the latest drivers from their BBS. 2. If you want MIDI playback from the daughterboard, edit the CONFIG.SYS file and add the /EXT option to the DEVICE= statement. The statement should look like the following: DEVICE=C:\MMOS2\SB16D2.SYS 1 1 5 5 220 4 330 /N:SBAUD1$ /EXT /Q The driver then sends all MIDI messages to the MIDI port instead of the internal synthesizer. 3. Change the MIDI patch to General MIDI: a. Open the Multimedia folder. b. Select Multimedia Setup. c. Click on the MIDI tab. d. Select Options at the bottom of the page. e. Set the MIDI device type to General MIDI. Note: When installing OS/2 Warp, set this to Soundblaster. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
