OSOTPMCH - PMCHKDSK REPORTS HIDDEN FILES AS "RESERVED" 05/03/96 ======================================================================= PMCHKDSK Reports Hidden Files as "Reserved" ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedure ------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When PMCHKDSK, the Presentation Manager version of CHKDSK, is run, a pie chart shows the current disk usage. Portions of the pie are devoted to user files, directories, and extended attributes. There also is a portion labeled "Reserved." If CHKDSK is run from the command prompt, there is no such indication of reserved disk space. Note: To run PMCHKDSK, click on the appropriate drive icon with mouse button 2; then select Check Disk from the pop-up menu. RESOLUTION PMCHKDSK uses the "Reserved" designation to show the amount of disk space used by hidden files.
