     Error Messages when Trying to Format Removable Media as HPFS

DESCRIPTION

The following error messages are received when trying to format
removable media, such as diskette drives and optical drives, as high 
performance file system (HPFS):

   SYS0530: You must specify a hard disk with the FORMAT command.

   SYS1276: The FORMAT command has detected an incorrect parameter.


RESOLUTION

Removable media are treated as very large diskette drives and cannot be
formatted HPFS.  Only nonremovable media, such as a hard disk, can be 
formatted HPFS.
