OSOTWSWP - SWAPPER-FILE SIZE IS LARGER IN OS/2 WARP 01/11/96 ======================================================================= Swapper-File Size Is Larger in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION The Swapper file is larger in OS/2 Warp than in previous OS/2 releases. RESOLUTION In previous versions of OS/2, DLL code was never copied to the Swapper file. In OS/2 Warp, code for system DLLs can be written to the Swapper file and, during startup, PMMERGE, DOSCALL1, PMGPI, PMWP, and PMVIOP are swapped out. This means an overall increase in the size of the Swapper file, and an increase in overall system performance. The most significant change is how system DLLs are loaded and what is now valid data for swapping. System DLLs include: DISPLAY SOM PMMERGE PMWP DOSCALL1 PMATM PMMLE IBMDEV32 PMCTLS PMSPL IBMVGA32 PMGPI PMVIOP ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
