  SYS3171 Error when Printing to a LaserJet in OS/2 2.1 or OS/2 2.11

DESCRIPTION

The following error was received when trying to print to a LaserJet 
printer:

   SYS3171 in DISPLAY.DLL.

A check of the printer's properties revealed a strange printer-driver 
version. An attempt was made to delete this driver, and the following 
message was received:

   Cannot delete driver because there are jobs in the queue.

The printer queue was deleted from the Desktop and the system was 
restarted. Another attempt was made to delete the printer driver 
through the Templates folder, but this also failed.

RESOLUTION

Rename the original OS2.INI and OS2SYS.INI files, and then "remake" the 
files (see the OS/2 documentation for instructions). When the system is 
restarted, the original Desktop will appear.

Note: Be sure to RENAME the original files, not delete them.
