OSVI9100 - VIDEO CORRUPTION USING A WEITEK P9100 OR P9000 VIDEO ADAPTER 05/09/96 ======================================================================= Video Corruption Using a Weitek P9100 or P9000 Video Adapter in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedure ------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Repainting is slow and video is out of synchronization. RESOLUTION Note: This procedure uses "P9100" but applies to the P9000 as well. If you have the P9000, substitute "90" for "91" in the procedure. 1. Start Selective Install. 2. Click on Primary Display; press V at Weitek P9100. Video Graphics Array (VGA) will be highlighted. 3. Click on OK; then click on OK again. 4. Click on Install; then select Default for the monitor type. 5. Finish the installation; then shut down and restart the system. 6. Do a Selective Install to Weitek P9100/P9000. 7. Click on Primary Display. The system will highlight Weitek P9100. 8. Click on OK; then click on OK again. 9. Click on Install; then select Default for the monitor type. 10. Finish the installation; then shut down and restart the system. 11. Open the OS/2 System folder, and then the System Setup folder. 12. Select System and then select the resolution desired. 13. Shut down and then restart the system. 14. Open a WIN-OS/2 Full Screen session. 15. Click on F (File) and then on R (Run). 16. Enter C:\OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\P91INST.EXE. This is the installation program. If the resolution is 640x480, select 60 Hz; otherwise, refer to the manual that came with your monitor and set the refresh rate to the maximum supported. 17. Click on OK, restart Windows, and then exit Windows. 18. At the Desktop, open an OS/2 Window session and change to the OS2\POWER_9K subdirectory. 19. Type P9CNFG.EXE and press Enter. 20. Change the refresh rate to that set in step 16. 21.
