OSVIVGA - RESTORING VGA AFTER INSTALLING THIRD-PARTY DRIVERS 05/01/96 ======================================================================= Restoring VGA after Installing Third-Party Drivers in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedure ------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION You installed third-party drivers and tried to restore VGA mode as described in the User's Guide to OS/2 Warp, but the procedure didn't work. RESOLUTION The procedure described in the User's Guide to OS/2 Warp pertains to drivers that are shipped with OS/2 Warp. Try the following procedure. If it doesn't work, contact the driver manufacturer for a recovery procedure. 1. Insert the Installation Diskette in drive A. 2. Turn on the computer, or press Ctrl+Alt+Del if it is already on. 3. When prompted, remove the Installation Diskette and insert Diskette 1. 4. When the Installation screen appears, press F3 to get to a command prompt. 5. Type CD OS2 to change to the drive where OS/2 Warp is installed. 6. Type DEL SVGA* to delete all SVGA files. 7. Insert Diskette 3 and type UNPACK A:DOS C: to unpack the DOS bundle. Note: For CD-ROM installations, go to DISK_3 and unpack. 8. Type CD INSTALL. 9. Type the RSPDSPI command as follows, and press Enter: * Diskette installation: RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:source:\ /T:target: * 2.1x CD: RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:source:\OS2SE21\DISP_1\ /T:target * Warp CD: RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:source:\OS2IMAGE\DISP_1\ /T:target where: source and target are the source and target drives. 10. Restart the system. 11.
