OSVIVGA2 - VGA RESOLUTION (640X480X16) IS THE ONLY ONE AVAILABLE 01/26/96 ======================================================================= VGA Resolution (640x480x16) Is the Only One Available in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Installed the video driver that came with OS/2 Warp, have 1 MB of video RAM, but can't get any resolution other than VGA (640x480x16). RESOLUTION 1. Open OS/2 System. 2. Open System Setup. 3. Open Selective Install. 4. Select Primary Display; then select VGA. 5. Restart the system. 6. Go to an OS/2 command prompt and change to the OS2 directory. 7. Delete the SVGA files, SVGADATA.PMI and VIDEO.CFG. 8. Check that SVGA.EXE is either 126 KB or 127 KB. If it isn't, do a Selective Install of DOS support before proceeding. 9. Open Selective Install and select the proper driver for your video adapter. 10. When prompted, select Display Adapter Utility. Be sure to specify the correct path and file name for the utility. Note: This is a DOS-based utility program that comes with the video adapter. Each manufacturer's utility differs in name, but usually is something like *MODE.EXE. If you cannot determine the correct file, contact the video-adapter manufacturer. 11. After the installation is complete, restart the system. 12. Open OS/2 System. 13. Open System Setup. 14.
