          Disk or Network Error in MS Access under OS/2 2.1

DESCRIPTION

MS Access Version 1.1 or 2.0 gets a disk or network error. This error 
can occur when the application is running in either a WIN-OS/2 Full 
Screen or WIN-OS/2 Window session, or from the network.

RESOLUTION

Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change.

1. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and add the following line (x is the
   drive where OS/2 is installed):

   * In OS/2 2.1 GA:

        SET TEMP=x:\OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\TEMP
        SET TMP=x:\

   * In OS/2 for Windows (SE):

        SET TEMP=x:\WINDOWS\TEMP
        SET TMP=x:\

2. Open OS/2 System.

3. Open Command Prompts.

4. Select an OS/2 session.

5. At the command prompt, type one of the following and press Enter:

      CD OS2\MDOS\WINOS2

   Or:

      CD WINDOWS

6. Type DEL *.TMP and press Enter.

7. Type EXIT and press Enter.
