COM Ports Not Available when Using OS/2 Warp for Windows with XR06300 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 --------------------------------------------------------------------- When running OS/2 Warp for Windows with Windows for Workgroups 3.11, WIN311.ZIP should be used. After applying WIN311.ZIP, WIN-OS/2 should work except when the error message, "Comm ports not available" appears. The COMM.DRV driver in Windows for Workgroups 3.11 is different from the COMM.DRV driver in standard Windows 3.10. WIN311.ZIP did not address the driver. Resolution Use the COMM.DRV file from standard Windows 3.10, not the COMM.DRV included with Windows for Workgroups 3.11. Procedure --------- Replace the Windows for Workgroups COMM.DRV, which is in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory, with the COMM.DRV from the standard Windows 3.10. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
