OSWAXCBT - CANNOT RUN CBT IN EXCEL 5.0 FOR WINDOWS TUTORIAL 02/01/96 ======================================================================= Cannot Run CBT in the Excel 5.0 for Windows Tutorial All OS/2 Releases ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION In the tutorial for Excel 5.0, the following error message is received: CBT could not be executed. RESOLUTION Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change. 1. Open OS/2 System. 2. Open Command Prompts. 3. Select OS/2 Window. 4. Type either CD EXCEL\SETUP to change to the EXCEL\SETUP directory for a local installation, or CD EXCEL for a network; then press Enter. 5. Type E SETUP.STF and press Enter to edit the SETUP.STF file. 6. Change line 115 to read: 115 Yes Depend 114 ? 117 1266 : 117 1266 us Yes D:\EXCEL\ 7. Save and exit the file. 8. Start a WIN-OS/2 Full Screen session; then run EXCEL SETUP from the icon. 9. Select REINSTALL. When the installation is complete, EXCEL CBT is ready to run. 10. At an OS/2 command prompt, type either CD OS2\MDOS\WINOS2 to change to the \WINOS2 directory, or CD WINDOWS to change to the \WINDOWS directory; then press Enter. 11. Type E EXCEL5.INI and press Enter to edit the EXCEL5.INI file. 12. Make sure the CBTLOCATION statement contains x:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT (x is the drive where EXCEL is installed); for example, CBTLOCATION=C:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT. 13. Save and exit the file. 14.
