OSWPARCH - SYSTEM LOCKUP WITH ARCHIVING ON IN OS/2 WARP 01/10/96 ======================================================================= System Lockup with Archiving On in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When the system is started with archiving turned on, it locks up or stops. RESOLUTION Turn archiving off: 1. Turn on the system. If it is already on, perform a shutdown and then press Ctrl+Alt+Del. 2. When the small white box appears in the upper-left corner, press Alt+F1. 3. At the Recovery Choices screen, select C. 4. At the command prompt, type the following, pressing Enter after each: CD OS2\BOOT ATTRIB -R ARCHBASE.$$$ DEL ARCHBASE.$$$ 5. Restart the system. Note: Do not press Alt+F1 this time. Let the system start as usual.
