OSWPICON - PLACING A WINDOWS ICON ON THE OS/2 DESKTOP-ALL OS/2 RELEASES 01/12/96 ======================================================================= Placing a Windows Icon on the OS/2 Desktop--All OS/2 Releases ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Unable to move Windows icons in WIN-OS/2 to the OS/2 Desktop. RESOLUTION There are two ways to move Windows icons to the OS/2 Desktop: * Download the utility program CVTICO.ZIP from the IBM PCC BBS (919-517-0001). Note: This program converts Windows icons to OS/2 icons. It is shareware and is not supported by Personal Software Solution Services. * Follow these steps: 1. Open a WIN-OS/2 Full Screen session. 2. Select the icon you want to move. 3. Press Print Screen to place it on the WIN-OS/2 clipboard. 4. Open Paintbrush to edit the icon. 5. Press Shift+Insert twice to paste the icon into Paintbrush. 6. Use the Paintbrush cutting tool to cut the desired icon; then press Ctrl+X to close Paintbrush. 7. Close all applications. 8. Open the Settings notebook of the program where you want to place the new icon. 9. Select the General tab. 10. Select Edit. 11. Paste the icon into the Icon Editor and save the icon to a file.
