OSWPLKUP - OS/2 WARP LOCKUP UTILITY PROBLEMS 01/23/96 ======================================================================= OS/2 Warp Lockup Utility Problems ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION * You forgot your OS/2 Lockup password. * Your password is not being recognized. * You are unable to exit from Lockup, or you are in a loop. * Lockup automatically occurs and you don't want it to. * You want to change or adjust lockup settings. RESOLUTION You forgot your OS/2 Lockup password or your password is not being recognized. You are unable to exit from lockup, or you are in a loop. 1. Turn the system off for 30 seconds; then turn it back on. 2. When the small white box appears in the upper-left corner, press Alt+F1. 3. When the Recovery Choices screen appears, press C. 4. Type x: and press Enter (x is the drive where OS/2 is installed). 5. Type CD \OS2 and press Enter. 6. Type MAKEINI OS2.INI LOCK.RC and press Enter. 7. Restart the computer. 8. You can now reset the password. Lockup automatically occurs and you don't want it to. You want to change or adjust lockup settings. 1. Point at a blank area of the Desktop and press mouse button 2 to display the pop-up menu. 2. Select Settings to open the Settings notebook. 3. Select the Lockup tab. 4. Select No Automatic Lockup, if you do not want automatic lockup. To change the Timeout setting, click on the right arrow and adjust the minutes. 5.
