OSWPLPAD - IBM VOICETYPE DICTATION DOES NOT SHUT DOWN CORRECTLY IN OS/2 WARP 01/15/96 ======================================================================= IBM VoiceType Dictation Does Not Shut Down Correctly in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When IBM VoiceType Dictation Version 1.1 has been running in either OS/2 Warp or OS/2 Warp Fullpack and you try to shut it down, you receive a "LaunchPad not responding" error, forcing you to shut down the LaunchPad. However, you still are unable to shut down VoiceType Dictation. You have to shut down and restart the system to end VoiceType Dictation. RESOLUTION Move the VoiceType Dictation icons originally created on the OS/2 Desktop back to the Desktop--especially Voice Settings. Voice Settings MUST be on the Desktop for VoiceType Dictation to shut down correctly. This is a known problem with Version 1.1. Note: If Voice Settings IS on the Desktop and the "LaunchPad is not responding" error is received, check if the LaunchPad icon was placed in a folder. If so, move it back to the Desktop; then shut down and restart the system. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
