SiS 540/630(R) audio device driver version 1.03.01 README This package installs an update to the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 device driver for the SiS 540/630 audio system that comes preinstalled in your IBM computer. This update requires approximately 7 MB of space on your hard disk (drive C). This update package is intended for IBM machine types 2179-xx, 6643-xx, 2193-xx, 2196-xx, 2197-xx, and select 2194-xx including 2194-23B, 2194-32B, and 2194-441, that come with a preinstalled SiS 540/630(R) audio system. Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Installing the update --------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. Select Start -> Find -> Files and folders. 3. Type qr9z02us.exe in the search box. 4. Click Find Now. This will locate the qr9z02us.exe file you just downloaded. 5. Double-click the icon for qr9z02us.exe. The default folder setting should remain C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\QR9Z02US. 6. Select Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. 7. Double-click on the System icon. 8. Select the Hardware tab. 9. Select the Hardware Wizard button. A window titled "Add/Remove Hardware Wizard" will appear. 10. Click Next. 11. Select "Add/Troubleshoot a device" from the list box. 12. Click Next. A window titled "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. 13. Click Next. 14. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device" in the list box. 15. Click Next. The Wizard will ask you to specify the location. 16. Select the Hard disk (C:) drive. 17. Click Next. 18. Enter the path to the driver as follows: C:\IBMTOOLS\Drivers\QR9Z02US\WIN2000 19. Click OK. If the "Digital Signature not Found" wizard appears, click Yes to continue. 20. Click Finish. Once installation is complete, the "System Settings Change" message will appear. 21. Click Yes to reboot.
