What This Package Does ---------------------- This package provides the Microsoft Bluetooth support file for IBM Integrated Bluetooth III. This package enables the Bluetooth functions for Windows XP(*1)(*2) provided by Microsoft for the following ThinkPad computers with the IBM Integrated Bluetooth III and 56K Modem. - ThinkPad X40 - ThinkPad R51 (Machine Type 1829, 1830, 1831 and 1836)(*3) - ThinkPad T42, T42p (Note) *1: Windows XP SP1 is required. *2: If you are using Windows XP with SP2, you don't have to use this package to enable the Bluetooth functions. *3: Machine Type 2883, 2887, 2888, 2889, 2894 and 2895 of ThinkPad R51 family are not supported. To determine if you should update the Bluetooth software, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To update the Bluetooth software, refer to the "Installation Instructions" section. Uninstall instructions for IBM Integrated Bluetooth II Software 1. On Windows XP, Click Start, select Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs. 2. Select IBM Integrated Bluetooth II Software and click the Remove button. 3. When the following message appears click the Yes button: "Are you sure you want to remove IBM Integrated Bluetooth II Software from your computer?" Uninstallation will start. 4. If the following message appears, turn off the Bluetooth power and click the OK button. "Please turn off or remove your Bluetooth device before continuing with the un-installation." 5. Click the OK button to restart the system. Installation instructions 1. Start Windows XP 2. Check if Windows XP SP1 is already installed. You do not have to use this package if you are using Windows XP SP2. 3. Check if the Microsoft Bluetooth Software is already installed. 4. Turn the Bluetooth power on. 5. In the Found New Hardware Wizard window, select Install from a list of specific location (Advanced) and click Next. 6. Select Search for the best driver in these locations:, check Include this location in the search, and input the location where you expanded the Microsoft Bluetooth support package to. The default location is C:\Drivers\WIN\MSBTACT2. 7. Click Next. The driver will be loaded automatically. * Note; In case you are asked for the location of the file bth_oobc.dll, point to the location C:\Windows\System32.
