What This Package Does ---------------------- This package provides the display driver for Windows 2000/XP users. This package enables or updates the display function of the following ThinkPad computer: - ThinkPad R50e - ThinkPad R51 (Machine Type 2883,2887,2888,2889,2894 and 2895)(*1) - ThinkPad G40/G41 - ThinkPad X40 (Note) *1: Machine type 1829, 1830, 1831 and 1836 of the ThinkPad R51 family are not supported. To determine if you should update the display driver or not, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To update the display driver, please refer to the "Installation Instructions" section. Limitations ----------- Before updating the display driver, confirm the System BIOS level first. If you install the display driver with a backlevel of System BIOS, it will cause problems with the 3D Screen saver. - ThinkPad G40 : After update the System BIOS level 1.15 or later, install this display driver - ThinkPad R50e : After update the System BIOS level 1.11 or later, install this display driver - ThinkPad R51 : After update the System BIOS level 1.07 or later, install this display driver - ThinkPad X40 : After update the System BIOS level 1.42 or later, install this display driver From Version 6.14.10.3943 video driver, 32bpp color depth support is dropped as following video mode. - 2048x1536 resolution. - 1600x1200 ober 100Hz refresh rate. The highest refresh rate of a CRT monitor is 100Hz. Enable the CRT monitor before creating the new CRT scheme with Presentation Director. Installation Instructions ------------------------- INSTALL: 1. Start Windows 2000/XP and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start and then click Run. 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\DISPLAY\SETUP in the Open box and click OK. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. Click Finish to reboot the system and complete the installation. UNATTENDED INSTALL: NOTE: This is for system administrators' use only. 1. Start Windows 2000/XP and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start and then click Run. 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\DISPLAY\SETUP -S -SMS in the Open box and click OK. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED: 1. Start Windows 2000. 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Display icon. 4. Select the Settings tab. 5. Click the Advanced button. 6. Select the "Intel(R) Graphics Technology" tab. The graphics driver version should be listed on this screen. 1. Start Windows XP. 2. Click Start and then click Control Panel. 3. Click Appearance and Themes. 4. Click the Display icon. 5. Click the Settings tab. 6. Click the Advanced button. 7. Click the Adapter tab. 8. Click the Properties button. 9. Click the Driver tab. The version number will be displayed.
