Installation Instructions ------------------------- Notes: If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. The following methods can be used to intall the driver. (A) Automatic install with Software Installer (B) Manual install (C) Unattended install (A) Automatic Install with System Update System Update will check both installed programs in your 3000 and will update the program automatically if a newer version is available. Refer to the System Update support page for details. (B) Manual Install Refer to the Manual Install section. (C) Unattended Install Refer to the Unattended Install section. Manual installation: 1. Start Microsoft Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Double-clicking the downloaded file to extract this package onto the hard drive. 3. Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted. 4. Double-click the SETUP file. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. Unattended install: Note: This is for system administrators' use only. 1. Start Windows 2000/XP and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Double-clicking the downloaded file to extract this package onto the hard drive. 3. At the command line, specify the location you extracted the files, then type "SETUP.EXE -S" and press Enter. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. Click Appearance and Themes. 3. Click the Display icon. 4. Click the Settings tab. 5. Click Advanced. 6. Click the Adapter tab. 7. Click Properties. 8. Click the Driver tab. The version number will be displayed.
