WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES ---------------------- This package installs Presentation Director software. If the Presentation Director has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) the Presentation Director will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. There are following ways for installation. (A) Automatic install with ThinkVantage System Update (B) Manual install (C) Unattended install (A) Automatic Install with ThinkVantage System Update ThinkVantage System Update will check both installed program in your PC and our Web site. Then download and update the program automatically if a newer version is available. Refer to the ThinkVantage System Update package for details. (B) Manual Install Refer to the Manual Install section. (C) Unattended Install Refer to the Unattended Install section. MANUAL INSTALL This section assumes the use Internet Explorer and Explorer. Downloading files 1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear. 2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the "Save" button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance. 3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. 4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted. Extracting files 5. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded. 6. Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it using the left mouse button. 7. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located. Installing 8. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 9. Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted. 10. Double-click SETUP file. 11. Follow the instructions on the screen. UNATTENDED INSTALL Note: This is for system administrators use only. - Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files. - At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -S -SMS options. (For example) [Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP -S -SMS MANUAL UNINSTALL 1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. 4. Click Presentation Director, then click Change/Remove. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. Restart the computer, if required. DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED -------------------------------------- 1. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. 3. Click Presentation Director. 4. Click "Click here for support information". The version information will appear. 5. Close Add or Remove Programs.
