Installation instructions
-------------------------

Clean installation: 

 [Automatic Information]
 1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
 2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. 
    The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TRACKPT.V64.
 3. Click Start button, then click All Programs.
 4. Click Accessories, then click Run.
 5. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted
    the package in the step 2, and click OK. 
    Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TRACKPT.V64\Setup.exe
 8. Click OK.
 9. Click Next several times.
10. Click Finish and restart the system.
 
 Notes: 
- During installation the following dialogs may appear because of 
  windows Security in Vista. Please choose Install and then proceed 
  Installation.
	- Message 1 -
       	Windows Security - Would you like to install this device 
       	software? 
       	You should only install drivers software from publishers you 
       	trust.

      	- Message 2 - 
     	Windows Security - Windows can't verify the publisher of this 
       	driver software

- During installation, the following dialogs may appear because of the 
  User Account Control in Vista. Please click Continue or Allow and then
  proceed installation.
	- Message 1 -
	A program needs your permission to continue
	If you started this program, continue.

	- Message 2 -
	An unidentified program wants access to your computer
	Don't run the program unless you know where it's from or you've 
	used it before.

Uninstalling the driver
 1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
 2. Click Start, click Control Panel, then click Programs.
 3. Under Programs and Features, click Uninstall a program.
 4. Right-click ThinkPad TrackPoint Driver, then select Uninstall.
 5. Click Continue.


Determining which version is installed
--------------------------------------
 1. Start Windows Vista.
 2. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, then
    click Device Manager.
 3. Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
 4. Right-click on PS/2 TrackPoint, and select Properties.
 5. Click the Driver tab to display the driver version.
