WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

  This package provides the Wireless WAN Firmware update tool for 
  the following adapter.

  - Sierra Wireless MC8755 Modem

  Updating (overwrite-installing) the Wireless WAN Firmware will fix
  problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.

  Refer to marketing materials to find out what ThinkPad models
  support which adapter cards.

  This program is language independent and can be used with any
  language system.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

  1. Launch Vodafone Mobile Connect.
  2. Click Tools, then click Diagnostics.  A screen with the firmware
     version and other device information will be displayed.
     - If it displays version U1_2_36 or older, you need to update.
     Firmware: U1_2_36MCAP G:/WS/FW/U1_2_36MCAP/MSM6275/SRC 2006/06/27
     - After updating with this package, it should display:
     Firmware: U1_2_45MCAP G:/WS/FW/U1_2_45MCAP/MSM6275/SRC 2007/10/04

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Notes:
- *** Important *** Make sure the computer is connected to AC power.
- *** Important *** Make sure Vodafone Mobile Connect is closed.
- *** Important *** The update may take up to ten minutes.
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to
  update the software. To determine if you should update the software,
  refer to the Version Information section.


Manual Install
  1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Save this package to the hard drive. (For example, C:\Temp)
  3. Start Explorer and open the folder where the this package was
     saved, and then double-click the file. (For example,
     C:\Temp\7BWD13WW.EXE) If you saved the file to a different
     location, specify that location instead.
  4. Start Explorer and open the folder where the this package was
     extracted, and then double-click the file. (For example,
     C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WWANVFF\FIRMWARE\INSTFW.BAT)  If you extracted
     the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 
     *** Important Notes*** 
         - Make sure the computer is connected to AC power.
         - Make sure Vodafone Mobile Connect is closed.
         - The update may take up to ten minutes.
     The update tool will start to update the firmware. 
  5. Click OK upon successful completion of update.
  6. Restart the computer.
