For Windows Vista:
This is beta software intended for use only in testing systems with
Microsoft Vista operating systems.  Beta software is not fully tested 
and may cause unpredictable operation or loss of data on the system in 
test.
This package contains un-signed driver.
For functional limitation or known problem, please refer to "Limitation 
of this package" section.

What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides the Ethernet driver for Vista 32bit and 64bit
The Ethernet driver enables or updates the Ethernet functions on the
following ThinkPad computers.

  - Intel(R) PRO/1000 PL Notwork Connection (Gigabit Ethernet)

This release supports the following systems:

  - ThinkPad T60/T60p
  - ThinkPad X60s
  - ThinkPad X60


To determine if you should update the Ethernet driver, refer to the
"Summary of Changes" section.

To update the Ethernet driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions"
section.

Installation Instructions

Windows Vista 32bit and 64bit ("Update Driver...")(*)(**)
__________________________________________________

1. Start Windows Vista
2. Click "Start" --> "Control Panel" --> open "System" --> click "Device Manager"
3. Click "+" of Network adapters to expand the category
4. Right-click "Intel(R) Intel(R) PRO/1000 PL Network Connection"
   then select "Update Driver Software..."
5. Click "Browse my computer for driver software" 
6. Click "Browse..." then point driver location
   \PRO1000\Win32 (Windows Vista 32bit)
   \PRO1000\WINX64 (Windows Vista 64bit)
7. Confirm "Include subfolders" checkbox is selected and click "Next"
8. Click "Install" to "The pubisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to install
   this driver software?".
9. Installation will be completed then click "Close"




(*)   During installation, sometimes following dialogs appear because of Windows 
     Security of Vista. Please choose Install and then proceed Installation.

       - Message 1 -
       Windows Security - Would you like to install this device software? 
       You should only install drivers software from publishers you trust.

       - Message 2 - 
       Windows Security - Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software

 (**)  During installation, sometimes following dialogs appear because of User 
     Account Control of Vista.
     Please click Continue or Allow and then proceed installation.

        - Message 1 -
	A program needs your permission to continue
	If you started this program, continue.

       - Message 2 -
	An unidentified program wants access to your computer
	Don't run the program unless you know where it's from or you've used it before.

To check the version of the device driver that is installed on your system,
follow the following instructions:

Windows Vista 32bit and 64bit:

1. Right-click "Computer" and click "Properties"
2. Click "Device manager"
3. Click "+" sign in front of the Network adapters type to open
   the all devices in that type
4. Double-click "Intel(R) PRO/1000 PL Network Connection"
5. Click "Driver" tab and the driver version is displayed
