What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate
software for Windows Vista.  ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data
Rate Software enables or updates the Bluetooth functions of the
following ThinkPad computers integrated with Bluetooth function.

This release supports the following systems' Bluetooth models:

  - ThinkPad R52 (*1)
  - ThinkPad R60, R60e, R61, R61e, R61i
  - ThinkPad T43(*1), T43p(*1)
  - ThinkPad T60, T60p, T61, T61p
  - ThinkPad X32(*1)
  - ThinkPad X41(*1), X41 Tablet(*1)
  - ThinkPad X60, X60s, X61, X61s
  - ThinkPad X60 Tablet(*2), X61 Tablet(*2)
  - ThinkPad Z60m, Z60t, Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t
  - ThinkPad Reserve Edition (*3)

Refer to marketing materials to find out what ThinkPad models support
which Operating Systems.

Note:
  (*1) Does not support Enhanced Data Rate due to a hardware restriction.
  (*2) Supports Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.
  (*3) Only support Windows Vista Ultimate (32bit)

To determine if you should update the Bluetooth software, refer to the
"Summary of changes" section.

 - (Fix) After the system wakes up from the suspend/hibernate, FTP
         function sometimes does not work propery.

 - (Fix) The problem about receiving informations from Outlook.
 - (Fix) The menu of 'Send To Bluetooth' does not appear in Outlook
         on Windows Vista 64-bit.
 - (Fix) The system sometimes becomes unstable when the system enters in
         the suspend/hibernate repeatedly.


Determining which version is installed
--------------------------------------
To check the version of the software that is installed on your
ThinkPad:

1. Click Start, select Control Panel, click Uninstall Program.
2. Select ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software and
   click Uninstall.
3. A pop-up will open with a message, 'Are you sure you want to
   uninstall ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software
   6.0.1.3500?'. In this case, the software version is 6.0.1.3500.
4. Click No to close the pop-up.

Note:
This software is to add functions over the Microsoft Bluetooth
software for Windows Vista. So the version number of some of the
device driver may not the same as the version number of this software.


Installation Instructions
-------------------------
If you are running ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software
on your ThinkPad system, please uninstall it before installing this
latest version.

Uninstallation instructions
1. Click Start, select Control Panel, click Uninstall Program.
2. Select ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software and
   click Uninstall.
3. A pop-up will open with a message, 'Are you sure you want to
   uninstall ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software
   6.0.1.3500?'. Click Yes.  Uninstallation will start.
4. When an User Account Control pop-up opens, click Allow to
   continue uninstallation.
5. When a pop-up window appears that request the system restart, click
   OK, to restart the system.


Installation instructions

Note
- During the installation, please do not touch the keyboard, the
  trackpoint, and the mouse.
- ThinkVantage System Update or Software Installer provides install/
  uninstall wizard.


 1. Press Fn and F5 at the same time to turn on Bluetooth.
 2. If Found New Hardware Wizard is opened, click Cancel.
 3. Execute Setup.exe
 4. If an User Account Control pop-up opens, click Continue.
 5. In "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for ThinkPad Bluetooth
    with Enhanced Data Rate Software 6.0.1.3100" window, Click Next.
 6. In the "License Agreement" window, read the Licence Agreement
    carefully, if you agree, select "I accept the term in the licence
    agreement" then click Next.
 7. In the Destination Folder window, click Next.
    (If you need to change the destination, click Change,select or
     enter the destination folder you like, then lick Next.)
 8. In the "Ready to Install the Program" window, click Install.
 9. When "InstallShield Wizard Completed" window appears, click Finish.
10. If you are asked to restart the system, click Yes to restart.


Unattended installation
-----------------------
This is for system administrators' use only.

 1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
 2. Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click
    Command Prompt.
 4. At the command line, execute setup.exe with the /qn /ru /ri
    option.
