IBM backup and restore software

README

This package will update the IBM backup and restore software
that comes preinstalled in your IBM(R) computer. This package
will also install the full version of the IBM backup and
restore software on select models. This update requires
approximately 20MB of space on your hard disk (drive C), this
does not include the space required for your backup partition.

The IBM backup and restore program creates and stores a backup
image of the primary partition (drive C) of your hard disk drive.
You may then recover this backup image in the event that drive C
becomes damaged or unusable.

This update package is intended for IBM IntelliStation,
IBM NetVista, IBM PC300, and IBM ThinkPad systems that come with
the IBM backup and restore software.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.


Downloading the update
----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save
   the downloaded file.

Installing the update
---------------------
1.  Click Start.
2.  Click Find.
3.  Click Files or Folders.
4.  Type back4104.exe in the search box, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the back4104.exe file you just downloaded. 
5.  Double-click the icon for back4104.exe.
6.  Click Next.
7.  Read the license agreement.
8.  Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
9.  Click Next.
10. Ensure that Save files in folder is set to
    C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\BACK4104.
11. Click Next.
12. Click OK. Wait for the message Update completed successfully.
13. Click OK.
14. Click Start.
15. Click Programs.
16. Click IBM backup and restore.
17. Click IBM backup and restore program.
18. Click Next.
19. Follow the onscreen instructions to create a partition on
    your hard disk drive in which the backup image can be stored.
