DRIVER FIXES - IBM 16/4 TOKEN RING ADAPTER II - Feature Code 5120 ================================================================= Drivers TOKENBM.COM and IBM16TR.DOS have been updated to fix the following problems and information on usage: * DOS/LSP Environment - Neither the IBM16TR.DOS MAC Protocol Driver nor PROTMAN.DOS can be loaded into the UMB area. If these items are loaded HIGH, the adapter will fail. - The Lan Support Program V. 1.3 device drivers; DXMA0MOD.SYS DXME0MOD.SYS or DXMT0MOD.SYS can be loaded high using the 'DEVICEHIGH=' statement when using version 2.00.02 of the IBM16TR.DOS. * Novell Netware Environment - Default I/O BASE ADDRESS not usable by TOKENBM.COM: The default I/O BASE ADDRESS as set in the switches of the adapter and the NET.CFG file is 86A0. The I/O BASE ADDRESS must be changed to F6A0 both in respect to the switches on the card and the NET.CFG file. The new switch settings should be: SW #1-OFF, SW #2-OFF, Sw #3-off. The new NET.CFG file should use the following parms: link driver tokenbm port F6A0 enhanced yes This problem has been fixed in version 2.35 of the TOKENBM.COM driver. - Adapter fails to insert into ring under heavy traffic conditions: When using the TOKENBM.COM driver and attempting to insert into a ring under heavy traffic conditions, the adapter will intermit- tently fail to insert into the ring. This problem has been fixed in version 2.35 of the TOKENBM.COM driver. * 'DMA MODE NOT SUPPORTED' message appears when using the (TOKENBM.COM or IBM16TR.DOS) driver and EMM386 memory manager. Adapter fails to initialize: This problem has been fixed in version 2.35 of the TOKENBM.COM driver and version 2.00.02 of the IBM16TR.DOS driver. * IBM ValuePoint machines: - Some models, if not all, of the ValuePoint machines use interrupt levels 2 and 9 for their disk drives. The default interrupt level for the 16/4 Adapter II is IRQ 9 (Sw #4-on, and Sw #5-on). You must change the interrupt level of the adapter to avoid conflicts. See the Adapter Installation Manual that ships with the adapter for instructions on changing the IRQ level.
