What This Packages Does ----------------------- This package provides the Modem driver for Windows 95/98 users. The Modem driver enables or updates the modem function of "Intel(R) PRO/100 SP Mobile Combo Adapter" of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad A21e Model Type 2655 (*1) - Thinkpad A22e(*1), A22m(*1), A22p(*1) - Thinkpad T22(*1), T23(*1) - Thinkpad X21(*1) - ThinkPad i Series 1800(*1)(*2) - ThinkPad A30(*1), A30p(*1) - ThinkPad X22(*1) (Note) *1: With "Intel(R) PRO/100 SP Mobile Combo Adapter"option. *2: Japenese models only (Windows 2000 and Me support only). To enable the Ethernet function of the MiniPCI Combo, another package for Ethernet driver is also required. Installation Instructions ------------------------- Installing: 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. Restart the system for the driver to be effective. Uninstalling: 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control panel. 3. Double-click the Modems icon. 4. Select Lucent Win Modem. 5. Click the Remove button. 6. Click Close in the Modems Properties window. NOTE: Unless the modem H/W is removed, the Windows will detect the modem in the next boot. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- If there is an alphabet letters in the version number, check the date stamp of each file which version is installed. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Click Start, point to Find, then click Files or Folders. 3. Click the Name & Location tab. 4. In the Named: field, type the each file name listed above table. 5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 6. Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for the specified file. If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not installed on your system. 7. In the Found part of the window, select the file name located in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM. 8. Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column to check the date/time of the each file.
