This version of DLTTools has been modified to be used exclusivly on IBM 35/70GB DLT tape drives. Introduction: DLTtools is a program that gives the user the ability to manage internal working of the DLT tape drive. It is used to update drive firmware, run diagnostics, view or alter various log, mode and parameters of the SCSI based DLT Tape Drive. Note: Remove any media from the 35/70GB DLT prior to preforming a firmware update Use: 1. Download and extract to diskette both the BOOTASPI.EXE and DLTv96.EXE images from the IBM Personal Systems Support web site. 2. Power down the system with the 35/70GB DLT tape drive installed. 3. Insert the BOOTASPI image and power on the system. The system will boot to a DOS command prompt with ASPI support loaded. 4. Remove the BOOTASPI image and replace it with the expanded DLTv96 image file. 5. At the command prompt type: A:\DLTTOOLS.EXE and select Enter. 6. DLTTOOLS will greet you will its license splash screen. Press ESC to accept the license agreement. 7. Select the appropriate host adapter. 8. Protection must be in the "off" mode. 9. Select Alt F 10. Select Update 11. Select Load Firmware 12. Select the .img file from the diskette image. Do not power off during the update process as unrecoverable damage will be caused to the tape unit.
