These features were pulled from the logoed package because the Control Panel Applet included in the version 5.11b release of this driver that enables these features was found by Microsoft to be in violation of the current PC98 specifications. IBM is working on correcting this problem in a future release. Version 5.11b of this driver is still available for download for customers desiring to use the Route Switching and/or Class of Service for IP features. Installs the NDIS 5.0 driver instead of the NDIS 4.0 d river on Windows 98, as recommended by Microsoft. 4.0 Changes - Known Limitations Changes in 5.11b from the previous version (3.34b) IBMTRP.SYS Version 5.11b contains the following fixes and enhancements over the previously released version, version 3.34b: Fixes Improved ability of supported adapters to recover from beaconing conditions on the ring Enhancements Added support for Redundant NIC environments Improved Route Switching support (added Peer and Auto modes) Added support for Class of Service over IP Added support for 100Mbps adapters Improved installation support files Addition of DMI enhancements to reflect/expose Route Switching and Class of Service over IP Other Changes Changed TxPriMax default value from 5 to 6 Changed TxPriThresh default value from 3 to 1 Known Problems: This package will not install the driver properly on Windows 2000 Betas released after Beta 2. This is due to a change Microsoft made in the class installer used for installing network device drivers in Windows 2000. You can patch NETIBM2.INF to install properly on versions of Windows 2000 after Beta 2 by adding the statement "Compatible = 1" to the [Version] block. Nevertheless, it is recommended that you use the driver shipped on the Windows 2000 Beta CD unless you have a specific reason to do compatibility testing with these drivers on Windows 2000 Betas. 4.0 Trademarks and Notices Microsoft and Windows are trademarks or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
